Q. What is a Sarcomere massage?

A. A sarcomere massage is a type of massage therapy that targets the deepest layers of muscle tissue. It focuses on the sarcomeres, which are the basic units of muscle contraction, and works to release tension and promote relaxation. This technique involves slow, deep pressure that is applied to specific areas of the body, often with the use of elbows, forearms, or knuckles. Sarcomere massage can be helpful for relieving chronic pain, improving range of motion, and reducing muscle stiffness. It is our signature type of massage offered only at Visacova Santé Massotherapy.

Q. How will I feel after a Sarcomere or Deep tissue massage?

A. There may be some initial soreness or discomfort, but these temporary effects will quickly fade away, you will also experience improved flexibility, range of motion, and reduced muscle tension and pain leaving you feeling revitalized and energized.

Q. Why do I feel soreness after a Sarcomere or Deep tissue massage?

There are a few reasons. First, deep tissue massage involves applying pressure to deeper layers of muscle tissue, which can cause some discomfort or soreness during or after the massage, particularly if you have tight muscles or knots. Additionally, the massage can stimulate the release of metabolic waste products and toxins that have built up in your muscles, causing inflammation and discomfort. Finally, the soreness you experience may simply be due to your muscles being worked on more deeply than they're used to. This soreness is similar to what you might feel after a strenuous workout or starting a new exercise routine.
